TATRAN is an instrumental trio, consisting of Tamuz Dekel, Dan Mayo (“Best New Drummer”, 2017) and Offir Benjaminov. What started out as an unexpected, underground, surprisingly tight live shows, has spread through the streets of Tel Aviv and out to the world, slowly creating a cult of a fan base, eventually becoming the internationally renowned band it is today.

TATRAN is one of those rare phenomenons which changes the game. They have been considered groundbreaking throughout the Tel Aviv music scene, bringing a sound never before heard, elegantly combining the classic guitar-bass-drums structure with a new approach to music & sound. Always expanding the boundaries of the instruments, the trio uses a wide range of effects and sound manipulations, both acoustic and electronic. Together with elaborate compositions and precise arrangement, they create an orchestral musical experience. Imaginative and expressionist, with deep influences of post-rock, modern jazz and classical music, their music travels between the beautiful and the disturbing.

Tamuz Dekel, Dan Mayo and Offir Benjaminov have been playing together since 2011. In 2014 the trio released their debut studio album ‘Shvat’, which reached Itunes and Bandcamp Best Seller Charts in the Instrumental, Jazz & Post-Rock categories. In 2015 they released a live concert album ’Soul Ghosts’ and in 2017 an experimental live session titled ‘No Sides’. The band has been touring worldwide, through huge festivals, notable venues, and legendary shows – supporting for Incubus, double feature with BADBADNOTGOOD in Tel Aviv, a triple feature with Wolfmother & Editors in Capetown and more.

Now, the band brings us their second official studio album – ‘Foresee’ (to be released on November 30) – a focused, uncompromising work of art that reflects the band’s evolution. In the new album, TATRAN bring themselves in a more refined way, going even further into the realm of composition and sound. The experimental side has been incorporated deeper into the compositions, bringing forward the aesthetics of the experimental into the subtle layers, colouring the music with an even-richer palette.
